What This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy describes what information Donkey Loans ("we," "us") collects when you use donkeyloan.com or submit a loan request, how we use and share it, how we protect it, and the choices you have. Using this site means you accept the practices described here.

We wrote this policy to be read. It applies to this website and the request service it operates; it does not cover the practices of lenders you are connected with, whose own privacy notices govern once your information reaches them, nor third-party sites we may link to. Where our practices change, we update this page and its effective date; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Information We Collect

We collect what you submit in a loan request — contact details, income information, banking details needed for lender matching, and identifiers such as date of birth and Social Security number — plus standard technical data such as IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited.

Request information is collected only when you choose to submit it, and each field exists because lenders require it to prescreen a personal loan request. Technical information is collected automatically through server logs and similar technologies as you browse, and is used in aggregate to operate and improve the site. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and this site is not directed to minors; if we learn we hold such information, we delete it.

How We Use Information

We use your information to operate the matching service — transmitting your request to lenders in our network — and to respond to inquiries, maintain security, comply with law, and improve the site. We do not sell your Social Security number, and we do not charge you for any of this.

The core use is the one you request: sharing your submission with participating lenders so they can prescreen it and, if interested, present offers. Supporting uses include verifying identity and preventing fraud, communicating with you about your request, enforcing our Terms of Use, and meeting legal obligations. Aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably identify you may be used for analytics and reporting.

How Information Is Shared

Your request is shared with lenders and, where applicable, other participants in our matching network for the purpose of presenting personal loan offers; information is also shared with service providers who operate the site on our behalf, and where law requires it.

Lenders receiving your request use it under their own privacy notices and legal obligations, including for prescreening that uses soft credit inquiries. Service providers — hosting, security, analytics, communications — receive only what their function requires and are obligated to protect it. We may also share information to comply with legal process, protect rights and safety, prevent fraud, or as part of a business transfer, in each case consistent with this policy. We do not share your information with anyone claiming fees to "release" a loan — no such party is legitimate, as our safety guide explains.

How We Protect Information

Information travels to us over encrypted connections and is handled under administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity; no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Our safeguards follow the standards applicable to financial-information handling, and access to request data is limited to what operating the service requires. You play a role too: use accurate contact details, protect your own email account, and treat any post-submission contact that requests bank credentials, upfront payments, or gift cards as fraudulent — legitimate participants in this process never ask for any of those.

Your Choices and Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you've submitted to us by emailing [email protected] with "Privacy request" in the subject line; we honor requests consistent with applicable law and verification of your identity.

Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights regarding personal information, including rights to know, delete, correct, or opt out of certain sharing; we honor applicable state privacy rights through the same contact channel. You can also limit technical collection through browser settings, including cookie controls, though some site features may not function without them. Opting out of communications about a request you submitted may limit our ability to complete the matching you asked for.
