How Donkey Loans Makes Money

Donkey Loans is a free-to-borrower connection service compensated by lenders: when a lender in our network receives your request or funds a loan after our introduction, that lender pays us a referral fee. You never pay Donkey Loans anything, and lender compensation never increases the cost of your loan.

This page exists because you should know exactly how the site you're using gets paid, in plain words. Donkey Loans is not a lender, bank, or broker of record; we operate a lead-generation and comparison service. Lenders participate in our network commercially — they pay for the introductions this site produces — and that payment is our revenue. The fee comes from the lender's own marketing budget, exactly as it would for any advertising channel; it is not added to your APR, your fees, or your payment, all of which are set by the lender under its own disclosed terms and federal Truth in Lending rules.

What Compensation Does and Doesn't Affect

Compensation can affect which lenders appear in our network and, in some cases, the order in which offers or listings display. It does not affect the terms any lender offers you, and it does not obligate you to accept anything.

Honesty about influence: a network is not the whole market. The lenders you can be matched with here are the lenders who participate commercially, which means other lenders — including possibly cheaper ones for your file — exist outside it, and nothing stops you from comparing our offers against a bank, a credit union, or anyone else. Where this site lists or compares specific companies, such as on our Compare Lenders page, placement and inclusion may reflect commercial relationships alongside editorial judgment. What never varies by compensation: the standards described on our About page — licensed lenders, disclosed terms, no upfront fees, no pricing above the 36% APR line — and the educational content across this site, which is written to the same numbers whether or not any given page produces a request.

Lending Disclosure

Donkey Loans does not make loans, make credit decisions, or guarantee that any request will receive offers, approval, an amount, a rate, or a funding time. All figures on this site are estimates for illustration; your actual terms come only from a lender's own offer and agreement.

Loan approval and terms depend on the lender's underwriting of your individual information — income, obligations, credit history, and state of residence, among other factors — and lenders' products are not available in all states. Representative example used across this site: a $2,000 personal loan at 24% APR repaid over 12 months costs approximately $189 per month, about $2,271 in total. APRs in this market generally range from about 6% to 36% depending on the lender and your qualifications; your rate may differ. Personal loans are debt: borrow only what your documented budget repays comfortably, and read every agreement before signing — our agreement guide shows how.
